On July 5, information from the Cao Bang Provincial Department of Health said that on July 3-4, 2025, the Cao Bang Provincial Department of Health (Vietnam) coordinated with the Guangxi Provincial Health Committee (China) to organize cataract surgery for 11 patients residing in Cao Bang.
The activity took place at Tan Tinh Town Medical Center Hospital, Tinh Tay City, China. This is an activity within the framework of the Vietnam - China Border Health Cooperation Program, contributing to promoting practical cooperation between the Quang Tri health sector and the four border provinces of Vietnam.
The program is part of the Medical Relief Project for the Treatment of congenital hemorrhage ( Thalassemia) and cataracts (Cataract) between the two countries in 2025.
Previously, on July 3, the Department of Health of Cao Bang province organized the taking of patients to Tra Linh International Border Gate to complete procedures to leave the country for China. After a successful surgery, at noon on July 4, the group returned home and completed the entry procedures.
All treatment, accommodation, and travel expenses during treatment in China are covered by the Health Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
