According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, this examination session with the participation of 103 hospitals and health centers. Many people were diagnosed with diseases or risk factors for the first time, thereby being consulted for early treatment, transferred to specialists or continued monitoring at the grassroots level.
The results recorded 19,088 cases of health problems, accounting for 64.3% of the examined people. Of which, 10,634 people need to continue monitoring at health stations; 8,447 cases are indicated for specialist examination, transfer or further treatment.
Notably, non-communicable chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease...account for the highest proportion with 16,175 visits.Through screening, more than 7,100 cases need to be managed and monitored for a long time and nearly 5,000 people need to continue treatment.
In addition, examination points also deploy many other specialties such as cancer, obstetrics, cardiovascular, eye, dentistry, respiratory, ear, nose and throat, dermatology, hepatitis B, hepatitis C...Thereby discovering more abnormal cases requiring early intervention.
According to records in many localities, a large number of people, especially the elderly, have come to health stations early to be examined.Many people expressed excitement when being directly examined by doctors from major hospitals right near their residence, without having to travel far and not incurring costs.
The above results show that the community health check-up and screening model brings clear results: helping people detect diseases early, reduce the risk of serious illness, and at the same time support treatment orientation and reduce the burden on upper-level hospitals.
This is also an important step in the roadmap for building a proactive healthcare system, strengthening grassroots healthcare and moving towards the goal of managing people's health according to the life cycle throughout Ho Chi Minh City.
