According to BS.CKII Phan Minh Chau - Deputy Head of the Department of Hematology, Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital, swollen lymph nodes, easy bruising or fatigue are quite common symptoms but not always related to blood cancer.
Lymph nodules can appear when the body is inflamed such as respiratory infections, sore throat, or viral infections. Easily bruised can be related to vitamin C deficiency, weak blood vessel walls, or some blood clotting diseases. Meanwhile, prolonged fatigue sometimes stems from overwork, unreasonable rest, or inadequate nutrition.
However, if these symptoms persist or recur for several weeks, especially from 2 weeks or more and do not improve after treatment of common diseases, patients should see a doctor to find the cause.
Also according to Dr. Phan Minh Chau, in these cases, patients can be examined and have necessary tests done at specialized medical facilities, thereby detecting early or eliminating blood diseases, including blood cancer.
Doctors recommend that patients should not be too worried when a single symptom appears. It is important to monitor the progression, duration, and accompanying symptoms to properly assess the cause.
