On February 16 (ie, the 29th of Tet), Ho Chi Minh City University Medical Center Hospital said that the unit had just successfully performed 4 organ transplants simultaneously, including heart transplants, liver transplants and two kidney transplants, bringing life opportunities to end-stage organ failure patients.
Previously, from the 27th of Tet, the Hospital received a patient with severe stroke. Although the intensive care teams made maximum efforts to treat it, the patient's prognosis was very poor and progressed to brain death. After being consulted, the patient's family agreed to donate tissues and body parts in accordance with legal regulations.

Immediately after completing the brain death identification procedure on the 28th of Tet, the hospital urgently activated the coordination and organ transplant procedure. More than 200 doctors, nurses and medical staff from many specialties were mobilized to synchronously deploy 5 surgeries including: 1 organ removal case; 1 heart transplant case; 1 liver transplant case; 2 kidney transplant cases.

The surgeries were performed overnight and successfully completed on the 29th of Tet, helping organ failure patients enter the new year with a new life.
Ho Chi Minh City University Medical Center Hospital respectfully expresses gratitude for the deep humanity of the donor and his family. This decision not only saved many patients but also strongly spread the message about the value of tissue and organ donation in the community.
