5 Ayurvedic detox tips to keep the intestines healthy during the rainy season

The rainy season slows down the digestive system, easily causing bloating and fatigue. Ayurvedic detox tips can effectively help improve gut health.

The rainy season not only brings cool weather but also brings a series of digestive problems. Many people often feel lethargic, bloated, and low-energy due to slow digestion.

According to traditional Ayurveda medicine, the cause is the weak digestive system during the monsoon season, causing the ability to process food ineffectively, accumulating toxins in the body.

Dr. Smita Naram, co-founder of Ayushakti, shared with hindustantimes 5 simple but effective Ayurvedic tips to help purify the intestines and improve digestive health during the rainy season:

1. Kadha herbal tea

Start your day with a cup of hot Kadha tea made with ginger, Egyptian fennel, basil or mint. This mixture helps enhance digestion, eliminate toxins and enhance immunity which is essential in humid weather.

2. CCF tea (Coriander - Cumin - Fennel)

Tea made from fennel seeds, coriander and fennel seeds, drunk in the morning helps soothe the digestive system, reduce inflammation and restart the absorption of nutrients. You can add a slice of ginger to increase the detoxification ability.

3. Eat snacks and keep food warm enough before consumption

Prioritize easy-to-eat dishes such as green bean soup, vegetable soup for breakfast; khichdi (green bean rice) cooked with ghee and seasonal steamed vegetables for lunch and dinner. Add spices like ginger, fennel, coriander and curry leaves to enhance flavor and reduce water retention.

4. Avoid foods that easily cause inflammation

Limit fermented foods such as dosa, tomatoes, yogurt; avoid cold foods, processed foods, fried foods, carbonated soft drinks. These types of foods cause internal imbalances, causing toxin accumulation, negatively affecting digestion and the skin.

5. A deliberate 7-day eating plan

Adults should follow a 7-day diet with the criteria of eating only when hungry, using steamed vegetables, green soups and herbal teas. There is no need to fast, but you should eat clean, warm and simple to help the body heal itself, improve energy and spirit.

Maintaining a healthy gut during the monsoon season not only helps prevent digestive diseases but also supports the immune system, bringing a feeling of relaxation and alertness to the body.
