5 victims of the passenger bus accident on National Highway 6 in Son La were transferred to Viet Duc Friendship Hospital for treatment while recovering.

On the afternoon of February 23, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital informed about the health of 5 victims in the accident on a bus on National Highway 6 who were given emergency care and treated at the hospital.

Patient V.G.H (male, 9 years old, Son La): The accident happened unexpectedly, leaving on the body of a 9-year-old boy serious injuries with chest injury, emphysema, fracture of the limb, suspected damage to the pancreas and spleen. The patient underwent a major surgery, temporarily stable but still needs to be closely monitored at the Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Surgery - Viet Duc Friendship Hospital. The patient's family is in difficulty, and the path to recovery is still long.

Patient P.T.H (female, 52 years old, Ha Nam) suffered multiple injuries, traumatic brain injury, left leg fracture and right arm fracture. The patient has undergone surgery and is currently being treated at the Department of Upper External Surgery and Sports Medicine. The patient's condition is currently stable, conscious, and the surgical wound is dry. However, the recovery journey is still long, and further monitoring and treatment are needed.

Patient N.D.H (male, 45 years old, Son La) suffered multiple injuries, facial injuries, and open fractures in both limbs. The injuries not only caused physical pain but also made the recovery journey challenging. The patient has undergone an important surgery and is currently in the hospital, continuing to be treated and monitored at the Department of Upper Examination Surgery and Sports Medicine. Although she was alert and had a dry surgical wound, her injured hands made the simplest activities difficult.

Patient L.T.N (female, 54 years old, Son La) suffered a fracture of the left arm, chest and right shoulder injuries. The wounds not only cause pain but also greatly affect mobility. The patient has undergone surgery and is currently being treated at the Department of Upper External Surgery and Sports Medicine. The condition is stable, alert, the surgical wound is dry, but still needs special monitoring and care.

Patient N.V.H (male 63, Ha Nam) suffered injuries to the ear and eyelid, causing pain and affecting daily activities. After a minor surgery and stitching of the jaw wound, the patient stabilized and was discharged from the hospital.

At about 11:30 p.m. on February 21, at Km 235+100, National Highway 6 (Sap Vat Commune, Yen Chau District, Son La), passenger car 26F-009.XX driven by Mr. N.D.H (1983, residing in Phu Luu Te, My Duc, Hanoi) in the direction of Son La - Hanoi collided head-on with a tractor trailer 30C-095.XX driven by Mr. D.X.T in the opposite direction.

The strong impact caused the sleeper bus blades to tear, many passengers fell onto the road unconscious. The front of the passenger bus was crushed, the driver and the bus assistant were trapped in the cabin. The survivors and the people had to spend tens of minutes using a beng saw to break the cabin to rescue them.

The accident killed 6 people, including 5 passengers on the bus and the tractor-trailer driver. Many others were injured due to the impact and debris from the vehicle.
