On the afternoon of February 20, the People's Committee of Son La province held a conference to announce the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee. At the same time, the Decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on merging a number of mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State, along with decisions on personnel work, was announced.
At the conference, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province Nguyen Thanh Cong announced the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on the establishment of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee and the Decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee allowing the consolidation of mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State; functions, tasks, and headquarters of newly established departments.
Accordingly, 6 specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee were established, including: the Department of Finance on the basis of merging the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance; the Department of Construction on the basis of merging the Department of Transport and the Department of Construction; the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the basis of merging the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development;
The Department of Science and Technology on the basis of merging the Department of Information - Communications and the Department of Science - Technology; the Department of Home Affairs on the basis of merging the Department of Labor, War Invalids, Social Affairs and the Department of Home Affairs; the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions on the basis of the Ethnic Committee receives additional functions and tasks, organizing the state management apparatus of beliefs and religions from the Department of Home Affairs.
Maintain 8 specialized agencies (receiving and transferring functions and tasks...), including: Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Department of Industry and Trade; Department of Education and Training; Department of Health; Provincial Inspectorate; Department of Foreign Affairs; Department of Justice; Provincial People's Committee Office.
After the merger, Son La has 14 specialized agencies, reducing 5 departments, 26 units and equivalents under departments and branches.
At the conference, the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs also announced the decisions to appoint leaders of specialized agencies of the Provincial People's Committee as follows:
Mr. Phung Kim Son, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, holds the position of Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tien, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, holds the position of Director of the Department of Finance.
Mr. Dao Tai Tue, Director of the Department of Transport, holds the position of Director of the Department of Construction;
Ms. Pham Thi Doan, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, holds the position of Director of the Department of Science and Technology.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Secretary of Phu Yen District Party Committee, holds the position of Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Secretary of Mai Son District Party Committee, holds the position of Director of the Department of Industry and Trade.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Secretary of the Van Ho District Party Committee, holds the position of Director of the Department of Health.
Mr. Luu Binh Khiem, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, holds the position of Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Viet, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, praised and highly appreciated the proactiveness, responsibility, and solidarity of departments, branches, sectors, and cadres, civil servants, and public employees in advising and developing the Project to reorganize the apparatus of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee and mass organizations in a scientific and synchronous manner, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and in accordance with the actual situation of the province.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested agencies and units to focus on completing the handover of organizations, personnel, assets, finances, facilities, and documents to ensure completeness, tightness, and compliance with regulations.
