Breakfast, small matter but cannot be underestimated
In a busy life or determined to lose weight, many people choose to cut breakfast. However, that is one of the serious mistakes affecting overall health. Bridge is the most important meal of the day. Skipping breakfast means opening the door for a series of lifestyle diseases," warned Dr Deepika Kohli, a clinical nutritionist in India, on Healthshots.
A study published in the Journal of Development and Cardiovascular Diseases showed that people who regularly skip breakfast have a 21% higher risk of death from heart disease. Similarly, research from King Khalid University shows that skipping breakfast can cause fatigue, lack of concentration, high blood pressure and obesity.
What does a healthy breakfast need?
Not only do you need to eat breakfast, but you also need to eat it properly. Deepika Kohli recommends: A greasy, high-starch breakfast is as harmful as skipping meals. Instead, prioritize nutritious dishes that balance protein, fiber and vitamins.
Three principles for eating breakfast properly:
Gently start with warm lemon and honey water, which helps cleanse the digestive system and increase metabolism.
Don't forget egg protein, Greek yogurt or soybeans are great choices to help you feel full longer and control blood sugar.
Incorporating fiber from green vegetables, oats or fruits is not only good for digestion but also supports weight loss and maintains energy throughout the morning.
Long-term harmful effects of skipping breakfast
Not eating breakfast regularly disrupts the biological clock, leading to irregular eating, easily craving sweets and fast food. This creates a vicious cycle between poor diet - bureaucracy - weight gain, and then continuing to skip meals, Dr. Kohli analyzed.
In addition, skipping breakfast can also slow down your metabolism, making it difficult for your body to burn energy, thereby accumulating more fat, especially in the abdomen, areas at high risk of heart disease and diabetes.
