The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) issued an urgent document to the Departments of Health, Food Safety Departments and Sub-Departments of Food Safety and Hygiene of provinces and cities across the country on reviewing, recalling and warning consumers not to use Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula infant formula products.
According to the Food Safety Department, on June 13, 2026, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the voluntary recall of all Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula infant formula products manufactured by Nara Organics Company.
This product is distributed through the Target retail chain and e-commerce platforms Target.com and Nara.com in the period from July 2025 to June 2026. The FDA said the product is not officially distributed outside the United States.
The recall decision was made after US authorities recorded three cases of newborns with Botulinum poisoning in the states of California, Pennsylvania and Washington. Epidemiological investigations showed that all three children had used the above-mentioned milk product before the disease started.
Faced with the risk of affecting children's health, the Food Safety Department requests localities to urgently review the registration of declarations and self-declaration for Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula products in the area.
For cases where products have been imported or circulated in Vietnam, functional agencies need to work with the product announcer to request notification to distributors and consumers to stop using, and at the same time deploy recalls according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Relevant enterprises must also report the quantity of products that have been imported and sold to the market, inventory and propose handling plans.
In addition, the Food Safety Department requested localities to promote communication to warn people not to use any recalled product lots of Nara Organics.
Units are required to summarize and report the handling results to the Food Safety Department before June 25, 2026.
The Food Safety Department also sent a document to the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) requesting to strengthen control and stop the business of Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula infant formula batches if this product is being circulated in Vietnam.
The Food Safety Department requests the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy to notify e-commerce platforms, online sales websites and business units in the digital environment to coordinate with booth owners and distributors to review product business.
In case of detecting recalled milk shipments being circulated in Vietnam, relevant units must immediately stop doing business, remove advertising information and implement handling measures according to the provisions of law.
