Some batches of Xmen for Boss Intense shower gel and Botanika hand sanitizer were recalled

Two recalled products include Botanika Handwash and Xmen for Boss Intense shower gel due to violations of the announced formula.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) has just issued a document requesting the suspension of circulation, recall and destruction nationwide of some batches of cosmetic products of Marico South East Asia Joint Stock Company due to violations of regulations on ingredient declaration.

Accordingly, the two products to be recalled include Botanika Handwash to protect skin and clean kitchen hands (500g bottle, batch number 706, expiry date October 10, 2028) and Xmen for Boss Intense perfume shower gel (180g bottle, batch number D46, expiry date July 30, 2028).

The test results of the Central Institute for Drug Quality Control showed that the product samples contained sodium benzoate but were not announced in the ingredients on the label. In addition, the enterprise was also determined to have deviations in the declaration of the ratio of some preservatives compared to the announced dossier.

Faced with this violation, the Drug Administration of Vietnam requested to immediately stop the business and use of the above-mentioned product batches nationwide, and at the same time proceed to recall and destroy all substandard products. Businesses must report the recall results before June 25, 2026 and review other related production batches, report before June 10, 2026.

The Department also requested the Departments of Health of localities to strengthen inspection and supervision of recalls and strictly handle violations. The Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City is assigned to directly supervise businesses, and at the same time recall relevant product announcement forms and report results before July 10, 2026.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) also issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against The Vigo Import-Export Service Trading Co., Ltd. (Ho Chi Minh City) for violations in cosmetic business and advertising.

According to the decision, this business was discovered to be trading 3 cosmetic products with formulas that do not match the approved disclosure documents, including: Laboratorios Babé – Stop Akn Hidratante Reparadora, Revision Skincare Retinol Complete 0.5 and Ekseption White-Up Sorbet.

In addition, the company also advertised 3 other cosmetic products with content that did not comply with the declaration dossier and advertising content confirmation paper, violating regulations in the field of cosmetic advertising.

Functional agencies determined that the violation had aggravating circumstances due to being related to many products. No mitigating circumstances were applied.

The total fine for the enterprise is 112.5 million VND. At the same time, the company was forced to recall and destroy 3 violating cosmetic products, and recall the receipt numbers.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam also issued a decision to sanction administrative violations against Thanh Lam One Member Limited Liability Company due to many violations in cosmetics business.

According to the inspection results, the company had 3 main groups of violations: cosmetic product "Pressensa Quality Dermal Solutions Defencextra 80+ SPF" with formulas not consistent with the announced dossier; product "MesoInstitute Hair Repair Hair Solution" labeled causing misunderstanding as medicine, which may affect body physiological function; 18 other products without complete product information dossiers (PIF) as prescribed.

The total fine applied is 195 million VND. In addition, functional agencies forced the company to recall and destroy violating products, and at the same time proposed to recall the receipt number of related cosmetic product declaration forms.
