Before the incident of a man assaulting a medical staff at Nghe An General Hospital, the Ministry of Health requested an urgent investigation, strict handling and strengthening security at medical examination and treatment facilities.
On the morning of June 2, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) sent a document to the Chief of Office of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee after social networks spread a clip recording a scene of a man walking through the counter to do procedures at the Emergency Department and then suddenly attacking medical staff.
The document signed by Director Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health) stated that the incident on May 31 at the Emergency Department caused disorder, negatively affecting medical examination and treatment activities and the psychology of medical staff.
Following the direction of the Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, the Department asked the People's Committee of Nghe An province to direct the investigating authorities to clarify and strictly handle them in accordance with the law. At the same time, strengthening safety measures at the hospital, including establishing a monitoring system and warning of risks, implementing solutions under the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment No. 15/2023/QH15 and the guiding document of the Ministry of Health.
In addition, it is necessary to promptly care for and encourage the health and spirit of affected medical staff.
Regarding the incident, on June 2, Nghe An Department of Health said it had directed Nghe An General Hospital to report in detail. A video excerpt from a security camera at the hospital is spreading strongly on social media, causing much public outrage.
