Cholesterol Level
The first measure of heart health is whether your cholesterol levels are under control. Cholesterol plays an essential role in your body, but high levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) can increase your risk of plaque buildup in your arteries, leading to heart disease.
Blood pressure
Blood pressure measures the force of blood against the walls of your arteries as your heart pumps blood. A normal blood pressure reading is usually around 120/80 mmHg.
Resting heart rate
One of the most important signs of a healthy heart is a normal resting heart rate (the number of times your heart beats per minute when you are at rest). According to experts, for a healthy heart, a person's resting heart rate should be between 60 and 100 beats per minute.
Good exercise tolerance
Exercise tolerance refers to how well your cardiovascular system can handle physical stress, such as brisk walking, jogging, swimming, or cycling.
Breath
Check your breathing patterns to see if your heart is working properly. Regular, effortless breathing, both at rest and during physical activity, is a reliable sign that your heart is supplying enough oxygen to your body.
Weight
Being overweight can put a strain on your heart, increasing your risk of heart disease. A body mass index (BMI) of 18.5 to 24.9 is considered healthy. If you fall within this range and maintain an active lifestyle, it's a good sign that your heart is likely to be very healthy.
