The important and key thing is still to cleanse the skin properly. In a damp environment, fine dust and bacteria easily stick together, combined with excess oil, creating conditions for acne to form. Therefore, you should use a gentle cleanser with a balanced pH of about 5.5 to cleanse without breaking the protective barrier of the skin. For people with oily or mixed skin, you can wash your face twice a day, avoiding abusing strong cleansing products that cause the skin to react negatively by secreting more oil.

Moisturization must still be prioritized

Moisturizing is still necessary, but should prioritize thin and light textures such as gels or lotions instead of thick creams. Many people mistakenly believe that humid weather does not require moisturizing, but in fact, high humidity does not mean that the skin is well-hydrated. The difference between the external environment and the air-conditioned space in the house can cause the skin to lose groundwater. Components such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin or niacinamide help retain water, control oil and strengthen the skin's protective barrier effectively.

It is necessary to pay attention to sun protection even when the weather is gloomy. UV rays still penetrate the clouds and affect the skin, causing dark spots and premature aging. Using broad-spectrum sunscreen, reapplying it if you are outdoors for a long time is a step that should not be missed. In parallel, you should limit applying too thick makeup to avoid clogging pores in damp conditions.

Finally, skin care in humid weather does not only stop at cosmetics but also relates to lifestyle. Keeping the living space ventilated, using a dehumidifier when needed, drinking enough water and eating plenty of green vegetables and fruits will support healthy skin from the inside.

When knowing how to adjust habits to suit climate characteristics, skin can still maintain brightness and smoothness even on the most uncomfortable humid days.
