In the days leading up to the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, when travel demand increases, many patients being treated at Da Nang Hospital have difficulty arranging transportation to return to their hometowns to reunite with their families.
From that reality, the hospital organized the "Meaningful Bus Trip" program, supporting free bus tickets and Tet gifts for patients in difficult circumstances to return to their hometowns. The program is chaired by the Social Work Department, in coordination with the Da Nang Hospital Youth Union and the companionship of philanthropists.

According to the plan, the program takes place on February 11 and 12, 2026 (December 24 - 25 of the lunar calendar), with 6 bus trips on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai route, supporting 150 patients and their families. Bus trips depart from the hospital gate, creating conditions for patients to move safely and conveniently in the days leading up to Tet.
The beneficiaries of support are patients from poor and near-poor households, ethnic minorities or those in particularly difficult circumstances who have not been able to contact transportation to return to their hometowns. In addition to free bus tickets, each patient also receives Tet gifts including cakes, candies and lucky money, contributing to sharing living and travel expenses during the Lunar New Year.
Moved when receiving a meaningful bus ticket, Ms. Phan Thi Mai, a patient's family member from Binh Son commune (Quang Ngai province), said that her family had been in Da Nang for more than a week, her husband had appendicitis and could not have surgery. Before the New Year, receiving a bus ticket and support from the hospital made her family very excited, because it both saved costs and had more conditions to prepare for Tet and reunite with relatives.

According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Quoc - Deputy Head of the Social Work Department of Da Nang Hospital, the "Meaningful Bus Trip" program (0-dong Bus Trip) has been maintained by the hospital for many years. Every year, the hospital organizes bus trips to take patients from Da Nang to localities such as Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, contributing to supporting patients in difficult circumstances to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet safely, warmly and more fully.
This is not only material support but also a source of spiritual encouragement, helping patients feel secure in treatment and celebrate Tet in a joyful atmosphere," Mr. Quoc said.
