Doctors recommend that there is currently no vaccine against Whitmore disease. People, especially children, need to limit contact with mud and polluted water during the changing seasons - favorable conditions for bacteria to grow. Workers who are regularly exposed to soil and water need to be equipped with protective equipment, wash their wounds with antibacterial soap and immediately go to medical facilities when there are suspicious signs.
