On the morning of June 4, at Hon Chong beach, Bac Nha Trang ward, Khanh Hoa province, rescue forces promptly rescued an 84-year-old woman who had cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest while swimming in the sea.
According to information from the Nha Trang Beach Rescue Team (under the Nha Trang Bay Management Board), at about 7:30 am on the same day, an old woman was swimming in the sea in the Hon Chong area when she suddenly fainted and lay face down on the water.
Discovering the incident, Mr. Nguyen Minh Binh - an employee of the Nha Trang beach rescue team immediately swam out to approach the victim and brought him ashore.
When taken to the sandbar, the old woman fell into cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, purple skin and foaming at the mouth. Faced with the dangerous situation, Mr. Binh quickly performed first aid and artificial respiration right at the scene.
After more than 10 minutes of emergency efforts, the victim gradually regained consciousness, her face became rosy again and she had a heartbeat. Immediately after that, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene to take the old woman to the nearest medical facility to continue monitoring, examination and treatment.
Leaders of the Nha Trang beach rescue team said that the old woman's health has now stabilized and is being monitored by doctors.
This is considered a typical successful rescue case, showing the important role of the standing rescue force at the beaches in Nha Trang in handling emergency situations, ensuring safety for people and tourists.
Through the incident, functional forces recommend that people, especially the elderly, need to monitor their health condition before going to sea.
People should not swim alone, they should choose areas with on-duty rescue forces and comply with safety regulations to limit unfortunate incidents that may occur.
