On the morning of August 4th, on the very day the 2nd facility of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital officially went into operation, the cry of a healthy baby boy was born, becoming a special milestone, opening the journey of reproductive health care at the new facility.
At exactly 9:12 am, the first surgery was performed by TTND. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh - Director of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. The pregnant woman is Ms. H.T. N, 31 years old, Duong Noi ward, Hanoi, who has spent 8 years waiting for a child and pregnant thanks to in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Not only prolonged infertility, her pregnancy also contained many risks due to a history of uterine fibroids, requiring close monitoring and treatment by doctors.

After tense moments in the operating room, the 4kg baby boy cried to greet the world healthy, bringing overwhelming happiness to the family and the medical team. Right in the operating room, TTND. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh named the baby Nguyen Hung Nguyen, hoping he would have a good start, grow up healthy, peaceful and happy.
Sharing after the first surgery at the new facility, TTND. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh emotionally said: "This is a profession with a special blessing. That is, I have the opportunity to welcome angels. When I welcome angels, I always remember to thank them, thank those angels, thank my parents, children and thank life for giving me such a noble profession".
Those simple sharing words also reflect the philosophy of working and the love for the profession that many generations of doctors at the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital have preserved for more than 70 years.
Notably, in the same surgery, the team not only safely received the baby but also successfully treated the patient's pathology. TTND. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Anh directly removed a basal uterine fibroid tumor of 15cm and a 3cm uterine fibroid tumor in the anterior wall, helping the mother to be completely treated immediately in one surgery, limiting the risk of further intervention after birth.
The success of the first surgery is not only of professional significance, but also affirms the capacity of the team of doctors and nurses of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in handling complex obstetric cases, ensuring maximum safety for both mother and baby.
For Ms. H.T. N's family, the first cry of baby Hung Nguyen closed the 8-year journey of searching for his child. As for Facility 2 of the Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, it is a milestone marking the beginning of a new journey.
From that moment, the facility officially continued its mission of taking care of reproductive health, accompanying millions of families on the journey to welcome healthy babies. Every cry of birth here will not only be the joy of each family, but also a motivation for medical professionals to continue to maintain their mission of bringing life and happiness.
