On July 17, information from Lao Cai General Hospital No. 3 said that the unit had just successfully performed surgery on a girl with a 9kg tumor in the abdomen. The patient's health is now stable.
At around 10:00 p.m. on the evening of July 14, Lao Cai General Hospital No. 3 received patient D.T.C (14 years old, in Nam Co commune, Lao Cai province), showing signs of abdominal distension for many days.
After conducting a CT scan and an emergency consultation with analysts to assess the image of Hanoi Medical University, the patient was diagnosed with autologous cancer (lymphangioma) with a tumor size of 9kg. The very large block pressed the entire abdomen, pushing the organs away, threatening their lives.
On July 16, the endoscopic surgery was performed urgently and accurately by the surgical team, lasting 1 hour, and the entire tumor was safely removed.
Thanks to the close coordination between the provincial and central levels, the surgery was successful and the patient recovered well.
This is a testament to the ability to treat complex and rare cases that have been successfully operated on by doctors at provincial hospitals.
