Doctors at Hai Duong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital have just successfully performed a special surgery, cutting off a uterine fibroid tumor weighing up to 3.2 kg - equivalent to the weight of a monthly baby.
The patient was a 37-year-old woman admitted to the hospital with an abnormally large belly, feeling heavy and uncomfortable for a long time, clearly affecting daily activities. If not treated promptly, the tumor is at risk of compressing surrounding organs and causing serious bleeding during surgery.
The hospital's surgical team coordinated smoothly with the anesthesiologist to resuscitate and safely remove the tumor. Notably, the patient was given a post-operative pain relief method within 24 hours, thanks to which his health recovered well: alert, painless, stable after surgery and is currently being monitored in the post-operative area.
