Thousands of young children but no child of their own
Mr. and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tuyet (1986) and Mr. Nguyen Van Thuyet (1982), from Quang Binh province, have been married for 3 years but have no children due to working far apart, with limited time to meet each other. Feeling unwell, in 2013, Mr. Thuyet decided to return to his hometown to work and the couple began their journey to find a child.
Longing for a child for a long time, Mr. and Mrs. Tuyet have visited many places for medical check-ups, tried various medications, and combined traditional and Western medicine, but they have been waiting in vain.
After years of waiting and hoping, in 2016, they thought happiness had finally arrived, and the dream of having a child became a reality when Mrs. Tuyet became pregnant naturally. However, that dream was short-lived, as the fetus left her body in the third month of pregnancy, leaving her with sadness that lingered for many days to come.
In 2017, when the sadness had subsided, Mr. and Mrs. Tuyet visited Ho Chi Minh City for medical check-ups. The results were the same as before, and the doctor concluded that Mr. Thuyet's sperm was weak and deformed, making it difficult to conceive naturally.
On that day, Mr. and Mrs. Tuyet also researched the IVF method, a modern assisted reproductive technology that can help infertile couples achieve their dream of having a child, but due to financial difficulties, they only took medication and waited for good fortune to strike again.
In 2019, Mrs. Tuyet became pregnant naturally for the second time, but like before, she was unable to keep the child. The pain continued to torment the couple.
From South to North and two little angels
After years of searching for a child in vain, in October 2021, the couple decided to use all their savings to go to Hanoi to find a child and undergo assisted reproductive procedures. Knowing about Nam Hospital and Infertility Hanoi through a few friends who had successfully adopted a child, Mrs. Tuyet and Mr. Thuyet brought new hope to their journey this time.
A month later, Mrs. Tuyet underwent the process of stimulating eggs, puncturing eggs, and creating embryos. All procedures went smoothly, and Mrs. Tuyet created 5 good embryos and 2 fair ones. This was the first time the couple had undergone IVF, and they were still unfamiliar with the process and worried, but thanks to the encouragement and support of the doctors, they gained more confidence.
Following the doctor's instructions, Mrs. Tuyet took care of her health and mental well-being, waiting for 10 days after the embryo transfer before taking a pregnancy test. Her happiness multiplied when, two weeks later, she underwent an ultrasound and was informed by the doctor that she was carrying twins, with two small "souls" growing inside her.
Overcoming the fear of losing a child in the two previous natural pregnancies, this time, Mrs. Tuyet's entire pregnancy went smoothly. On October 2, 2022, a pair of twins, Nguyen Ngoc Binh An and Nguyen Ngoc Phu Quyet, were born in the midst of the joy and happiness of the extended family.
