The Hung Yen Provincial Department of Health has just announced the suspension of circulation and recall of the cosmetic product "Vitamin E Mosturising Cream Enriched with Sunflowers Oil" due to poor quality and unknown origin.
This is a product that was discovered to have signs of violation after the Department of Drug Administration - Ministry of Health issued Official Letter No. 2018/QLD-MP dated July 16, 2025 on the handling of poor quality cosmetic samples.
According to information from the Department of Health, the recalled product has a label "Product of Thailand", lot number 56, date of manufacture 1.1.2024, expiration date 1.1.2028. The label is printed entirely in foreign languages, without sub-labeles in Vietnamese and does not display information about the organization or individual responsible for bringing the product to the market - violating regulations on labeling and traceability.
Notably, test results showed that the product did not meet the microorganism limit. In particular, the main ingredient, vitamin E (Tocopheryl acetat) in the product was not detected at the detection limit of 25.8mcg/g. This means that the product does not contain active ingredients as advertised and named, which poses a risk of causing misunderstanding to users.
In the face of the above situation, the Department of Health requested communes and wards in the area to direct functional units to notify businesses and cosmetic users to immediately stop trading and using the above products and return them to the supply facilities.
At the same time, localities need to receive feedback from organizations and individuals; coordinate with competent authorities to inspect and verify the origin of products; strictly handle violations according to current regulations and report the results to the Department of Health.
Along with that, businesses selling cosmetics in the province are required to stop circulating violating products, recall and return them to suppliers. The provincial Center for Disease Control coordinates with media agencies to increase information to the community, requiring people not to buy, not to use the product and promptly report if they discover that the product is in violation and continues to be circulated.
The announcement of Hung Yen Department of Health emphasized that the serious implementation of inspection and recovery work is to protect consumers' health and prevent poor quality cosmetics of unknown origin from continuing to appear on the market.
