The Department of Drug Administration said that Novartis Vietnam Co., Ltd. reported suspected cases of fake drugs related to the following products: Tobrex 5ml ( batch number VEE98C, VEE90A; registration number VN 19385-15), Maxitrol 5ml ( batch number VFD09A; registration number 540110024025, old drug license plate VN-21435-18), and TobraDex 5ml ( batch number VHN07A; registration number VN-20587-17).
To ensure the safety of users and comply with pharmaceutical laws, the Hung Yen Department of Health requires medical examination and treatment facilities and pharmaceutical businesses not to buy, sell, or use drugs with the above names and batch numbers, and promptly report if they discover suspected product circulation.
The People's Committees of communes and wards are requested to direct health departments to notify the private medical and pharmaceutical network not to trade or use drugs of unknown origin, only to buy at legal establishments with full invoices and documents. At the same time, strictly implement directives and plans to combat smuggling and counterfeit goods.
The Provincial Center for Drug - Cosmetic - Food Testing has increased the collection of samples for drugs at risk of counterfeiting or poor quality, promptly reporting violations to the Department of Health and relevant agencies. The Center for Disease Control coordinates communication to raise awareness and promptly notify authorities of signs of suspected counterfeit drugs.
The Department of Health recommends that relevant units urgently implement it to protect public health.
