On January 4, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said it had just planned to implement breakthrough solutions to strengthen protection, care and improve people's health.
The plan also concretizes Action Program No. 07-CTr/TU dated November 24, 2025 of the Executive Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, creating a basis for synchronous implementation of tasks and solutions in the field of health in the province.
The general goal of the Plan is to ensure that all people in the province are managed and provided with quality health care, live in a safe environment, ensure health security; and develop harmoniously both physically and mentally.
Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of life and the quality of human resources, serving the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
According to the Plan, Khanh Hoa province focuses on proactively preventing diseases, improving people's physical condition, and gradually reducing the burden of health costs through expanding health insurance coverage and innovating health management methods.
By 2030, Khanh Hoa strives to increase the average height of children and adolescents aged 1 to 18 by at least 1.5cm; the average life expectancy reaches 75.5 years, of which the number of years of healthy living reaches at least 68 years.
The vaccination rate of vaccines in the Essential Immunization Program is maintained at over 95%.
From 2026, people in the province will have periodic health check-ups or free screening at least once a year, and will also be allowed to create electronic health records to manage health according to life cycles.
Notably, the province sets a target that by 2030, people will be exempted from hospital fees at a basic level within the scope of health insurance benefits according to the roadmap.
The health insurance coverage rate will reach over 96% of the population by 2026, towards universal health insurance coverage by 2030.
Many people expect that the implementation of the Plan is expected to create a strong shift in the work of protecting, caring for and improving people's health, contributing to ensuring social security and sustainable development of Khanh Hoa province in the coming period.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Luong (62 years old, residing in Nha Trang ward) said that people have high expectations for the specific goals set by the province, especially the management of people's health and free periodic health check-ups.
The average life expectancy of 75.5 years is not just a number, but reflects the quality of life of the people.
If we have annual health check-ups and electronic health records to monitor underlying diseases, older people like us will be more reassured, detect the disease early and treat it promptly," Ms. Luong shared.
According to her, when the State focuses on disease prevention, improving physical strength and prolonging the number of years of healthy living, people will not only live longer but also live healthily and with quality, reducing the burden on families and society.
