According to the " scripts" and "Golden medicine", the potted sedge has a sweet taste, calculated for salary, and included in the " kidney" - "heart" can. The main effects are salaries, blood clotting, thanh can, renal health, detoxification. People often use freshly pounded or water-based herbs to reduce fever, treat jaundice, heat in the body, boils, especially symptoms related to liver poisoning or impaired function.
In many rural areas, people also have the habit of cooking potted grass water mixed with licorice or pennywort, using it instead of daily drinking water to cool the liver, detoxify, and beautify the skin. This is a simple but effective way to take care of the body, passed down through many generations.
Scientists at the Institute of Pharmacy have also proven that extract from the pot of young plants has the ability to reduce blood lipids, lower blood sugar, increase the activity of detoxification enzymes in the liver, helping to improve liver function in people with high liver enzymes due to alcohol or Western medicine.
The mechanism is explained by the active ingredient wedelolactone - a compound in the coumestan group - which can inhibit oxidative stress and prevent the formation of free radicals, thereby protecting liver cell membranes and promoting the regeneration of new cells.

Some works also recorded the antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects of potted grass, helping to inhibit the production of toxic gut bacteria, thereby reducing the detoxification burden on the liver.
