Traveled more than 600 km to see a doctor
10 infertile couples in difficult circumstances have just received free in vitro fertilization support and other free approval programs, within the framework of "Golden Year 2025 - Golden Opportunity for the Dream of Finding a Love Child" of Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital.
MSc. Dr. Le Thi Thu Hien, Professional Director of Hanoi Andrology and Infertility Hospital, shared: After many years of implementation, the Program has brought opportunities to 67 families with the main achievement being the birth of 70 little angels. Their motivating stories have motivated doctors and nurses to constantly strive to improve their professional quality and expand community activities.
The family of Ms. Ho Thi Chinh (born in 1993) and Mr. Le Duc Huy (born in 1987), from Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province, could not hide their emotions when they encountered a sweet fruit picking.
"We have been married since 2018, but have not been able to get pregnant for 5 years. The family's difficult economic conditions made the couple not dare to think about going to large hospitals and specialties for examination and treatment. For 5 years, I have only found doctors to find medicine everywhere, mainly smoking and herbal medicine, but I am still waiting. My wife and I are under pressure because Mr. Huy is the first son, the family sympathizes, but I still accept it. I have proposed for divorce so that he can find new happiness, but my husband still cherishes hope and encourages me to continue, Ms. Chinh choked up.
The desire was rewarded, by 2023, by chance, the couple was introduced and did not hesitate to travel more than 600 km, taking the train all night for 13 hours to Hanoi for a check-up.
"The doctor concluded that for me to be pregnant, there was only one way to perform in vitro fertilization. However, with difficult family circumstances and a heavy burden in life, I was disappointed once again and thought about how long I would have saved enough to get on the IVF journey. Luckily, we were approved for the list of 10 cases with 100% free in vitro fertilization costs, Ms. Chinh shared.
Luckily, smiling, thanks to the Hospital's support package, started the IVF process; just after the first embryo transfer in August 2023, Ms. Chinh became pregnant. On April 27, 2024, baby Le Duc Hieu cried and was born, the sweet fruit of the 6-year wait journey of the poor couple.
"Being able to carry my child as it is today is a dream that my husband and I never dared to think about before," Ms. Chinh shared.
Even if you contribute every penny, it is not enough to fertilize the test results
Also one of the families in especially difficult circumstances who were lucky enough to receive 100% free support, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Moi and Mr. Loc Xuan Anh (Tay ethnic group, in Yen Minh district, Ha Giang province) had a healthy little angel after many years of waiting.
Ms. Moi had an egg fallopian tube, and Mr. Xuan Anh had weak sperm so he could not conceive naturally, their opportunities were too fragile and they could only rely on IVF.
Ms. Moi confided: My wife and I saved every penny just hoping to have enough money for treatment, but the IVF cost was really too much for us. But God is still kind, in 2023, my and my couple's documents were selected."
Before the embryo transfer, Ms. Moi also had to undergo polyp cutting and uterine culvert clipping surgery to ensure the most optimal conditions. After a period of recovery, when she received a second Embryo in November 2023, Ms. Moi burst into happiness when she learned that she had successfully become pregnant.
After a smooth pregnancy, the small family in the Yen Minh highlands finally welcomed the seeds of love, the crystallization of love, effort and even real miracles.
The destination of the happy journey for infertile couples is a smile, the eyes cheerful when held in the arms of a little angel. This is not only the happiness of each family, but also the result of many months of efforts of the team of doctors and nurses, who are silently "fertilizing" with all their hearts.
This is the 7th consecutive year that the Hospital has implemented this Program. Of the 10 families receiving free support this time, the majority are ethnic minority couples in mountainous, remote and isolated provinces.
