Winter with short days, weak light and cold weather can easily make many people fall into a state of fatigue and depression. Practicing a few gentle yoga movements a day can help you improve your mood and regain positive energy.
According to Siddhaa Akshar, a yoga expert at Akshar Yoga Training Center (India), relaxation exercises suitable during the cold season " helping to increase blood circulation, release stress and improve the spirit naturally".
Increase strength and warm the body
The snake-carrying pose (Bhujangasana) is recommended to practice in the morning to widen the chest, warm the body and reduce spinal stiffness after a long night.
The bridge pose (Setu Bandhasana) helps activate the glutes and thighs, reduce fatigue and create a feeling of alertness.
In the evening, the happy baby pose (Ananda Balasana) is very suitable thanks to its ability to calm the nervous system, relax the hips, which are often prone to stiffness in cold weather.
If you want a simpler move, the face-down dog pose (Adho Mukha Svanasana) helps stretch the whole body, increase blood circulation and bring alertness to even beginners.
Reduce stress and create peace in the family
Cold days can easily make family activities more stressful. Warrior II Pose (Virabhadrasana II) helps increase concentration, stabilizes emotions, and is suitable for people who are often under work pressure.
Breast-opening poses such as fish pose (Matsyasana) or camel pose (Ustrasana) help relieve the chest area, where a lot of stress accumulates. These poses help release stagnant energy in winter and strengthen mental stamina, says Siddhaa Akshar.
At the end of the exercise, you can practice the plant pose (Vrksasana) and the baby pose (Balasana) to relax your whole body, helping to calm your mind, which is essential during the cold months.
Maintaining 10 - 15 minutes of yoga per day not only helps improve winter mood but also contributes to building a healthy lifestyle, bringing harmony to the whole family.
