Doctors recommend that the elderly need to drink enough water during the day to maintain the best health.

On the afternoon of October 22, Hospital 199 organized the "Health Journey 199" Workshop for the elderly in Da Nang.

The workshop aims to raise awareness for the elderly and their families to properly understand proactive health care, especially living with chronic diseases.

At the workshop, Dr. Hoang Thi Bach Duong - Standing Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Community Health Education said that the elderly need to drink enough water during the day to maintain the best health.

According to Ms. Duong, the aging process will cause the elderly to have a reduced need for daily drinking water. Many people will no longer feel thirsty as often.

"Many elderly people are subjective and do not hydrate their bodies enough, leading to diseases such as constipation, dizziness and low blood pressure, which are dangerous to their health," said Ms. Duong.

To supplement enough and the right amount of water during the day, Ms. Duong said that the elderly need to maintain drinking enough 2 - 2.5 liters of water per day. If they do not drink enough pure water, the elderly can supplement with fruit juices, milk, soups, smoothies... and some types of water suitable for each person's medical condition.
