On September 26, at the first Vietnam Post-Surgery Recovery Enhancement Conference, Ms. Tran Thanh Thuy - Director of the Department of Health of Da Nang City said that Da Nang is investing and orienting to develop into a specialized medical center.
In early 2024, Da Nang will put into use the Center for Neurosurgery, Trauma and Plastic Burns, and the Center for Organ Transplantation and Stem Cell Transplantation, demonstrating the city's great investment and interest in the health sector.
"We also want to develop the field of surgery and endoscopy in a specialized direction. To develop in that direction, it is necessary to develop comprehensively such as internal medicine, anesthesia, resuscitation, nutrition, and post-operative care," said Ms. Thuy.
The first Vietnam Post-operative Recovery Enhancement Conference is an activity jointly organized by the Vietnam Post-operative Recovery Enhancement Association, the Vietnam Association of Surgery and Endoscopic Surgery, and Da Nang Hospital.
The conference was attended by delegates and speakers who are experts in enhancing post-operative recovery from domestic and international hospitals.
Enhanced post-operative recovery is a comprehensive care program that involves the coordination of many specialties for surgical patients such as surgery, anesthesia, rehabilitation, nutrition, nursing, and psychology.
The goal of enhancing postoperative recovery to help patients shorten hospital stays, improve treatment quality, reduce complication rates and reduce treatment costs effectively has been recognized worldwide.
With the aim of sharing experiences in implementing the program to enhance post-operative recovery, the conference aims to widely apply it in hospitals nationwide to help optimize the treatment process.
At the conference, the Director of the Department of Health of Da Nang City also shared that major hospitals in provinces and cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have also implemented contents on this issue. The conference will be an opportunity for hospitals across the country as well as the Da Nang health sector to access knowledge, practical skills, and share experiences in implementing activities to enhance post-operative recovery in hospitals.
