Guava has long been known as a fruit rich in vitamin C, fiber and many nutrients that are good for the body. However, not everyone who eats guava is good. Some compounds in guava can have a negative impact on the health of people with specific diseases or conditions.

Groups of people who should not eat guava:

People with weak digestion: Guava contains a lot of vitamin C and fructose. For people who are less absorbed of fructose, eating too much guava can easily cause bloating and discomfort due to the amount of gas generated from fructose-decomposing bacteria in the small intestine.

People with stomach problems: Although guava is beneficial for the stomach, people with stomach pain should only eat it in moderation. stiff taste, difficulty crushing, makes the stomach work harder, which can make the pain worse. In particular, you should absolutely not eat guava or drink guava juice on an empty stomach.

People with irritable bowel syndrome: Guava helps reduce constipation, but eating too much can cause digestive disorders, especially for people with irritable bowel syndrome. Eating in moderation is safer.

People with diabetes: Ripe rice has a fairly high glycemic index (GI), up to 78. If people with diabetes eat it regularly, blood sugar can increase sharply. Therefore, this group should limit eating guava or drinking guava juice every day.

People prone to colds and coughs: "it should be eaten during the day, between main meals. Eating guava in the evening can make the body susceptible to colds and coughs.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women: Green eggs contain a lot of fiber, which can easily cause bloating and constipation, especially when the fetus is getting larger and pressing on the stomach and intestines. If pregnant mothers have constipation, they should reduce eating guava to avoid getting worse.

People with tooth pain: stiff, high in seeds, can cause more pain for people with tooth pain. Therefore, you should avoid this fruit, especially ripe guava.

Guava seeds are hard to digest. People with weak digestion should not eat because they are prone to bloating and discomfort. However, for people with a healthy digestive system, eating whole nuts can bring benefits such as supporting blood pressure, antioxidants and supporting weight loss.

Guava can be infected with bacteria such as listeria, e.coli or salmonella from the environment. Even though the guava peel is hard, bacteria can still invade when the peel is scratched. Because guava is often eaten with the skin, consumers need to wash and soak it in salt before enjoying it to ensure safety.
