On January 23, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that it had approved the Project "Developing physical education and sports for all in Khanh Hoa province to 2030, orientation to 2045".
The project aims to promote physical training movements among the people, contributing to improving community health and the quality of human resources.
By 2030, Khanh Hoa strives to have over 45% of the province's population regularly exercise; the rate of sports families reaches at least 33% of the total number of households.
Every year, the whole province strives to organize at least 20 provincial-level sports tournaments; each commune, ward, and special zone maintains at least 8 grassroots-level sports tournaments; and at the same time hosts or organizes at least 5 national and international-level sports tournaments.
For physical education in schools, the project sets a target of 100% of general education institutions having enough teachers and facilities to serve teaching; 100% of students meeting physical fitness standards according to regulations; all schools have physical education and sports clubs operating regularly.
The province also aims to build about 1,000 grassroots sports clubs; train 300 collaborators and sports instructors to meet professional standards; gradually complete the system of sports facilities from provincial to grassroots levels.
Orienting to 2045, Khanh Hoa aims to build a sports movement for everyone in a sustainable, modern and integrated direction, ensuring that all people have the opportunity to access and participate in appropriate physical training activities.
To achieve the above goals, the project identifies 10 key tasks and solutions.
Some notable tasks include building and developing the mass physical education and sports movement; developing physical education and school sports; promoting the physical education and sports movement among workers, civil servants, laborers, youth, women, farmers, the elderly; developing the physical education and sports movement in the armed forces...
Sharing with reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (56 years old, Nha Trang ward) said that the province's promulgation of the Project "Developing Physical Education and Sports for All" is a very necessary policy, especially in the context that people are increasingly concerned about health.
Older people like us really need space and conditions to practice.
If the locality pays attention to investing in more parks, yards, and outdoor exercise equipment, people will participate more, both improving health and creating healthy living habits," Ms. Hong said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Van Minh (32 years old, a worker working at Suoi Dau Industrial Park) expressed his desire for mass sports activities to be organized regularly, suitable for workers.
Workers work in shifts, if there are amateur sports tournaments or clubs operating outside office hours, it is very good. Sports not only help improve health but also help connect workers," Mr. Minh shared.
Many people expect that when the project is implemented methodically, the physical education and sports movement at the grassroots level will truly spread, contributing to improving community health and the quality of spiritual life of the people in the province.
