On the afternoon of January 15, at a regular press conference, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien - Standing Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee said that the goal of becoming a centrally-run city by 2027 shows the great political determination of the locality.
According to Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, in 2025, despite facing many difficulties and challenges due to the general economic context and the impact of natural disasters, the locality still achieved many positive results. The province has completed and exceeded 21/22 key socio-economic targets.
Specifically, gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 7.11%; state budget revenue achieved high growth, exceeding 39% compared to the central budget estimate and increasing by over 53% compared to 2024.
Investment attraction continues to be a bright spot when in 2025, Khanh Hoa licensed 86 non-budget investment projects, with a total registered capital of more than 503 trillion VND.
Many large-scale projects in the fields of industry, industrial parks and urban areas have been implemented, contributing to forming new growth driving pillars for the locality.
In parallel with that, Khanh Hoa province proactively builds and completes specific mechanisms and policies, including the free trade zone project and policies for developing Van Phong Economic Zone, in order to create room and momentum for growth in the coming period.
Stepping into 2026, Khanh Hoa sets a double-digit growth target, with GRDP increasing by 10–11%, aiming for GRDP growth target for the period 2026-2030 to reach 11–12%, creating a solid foundation to soon become a centrally-run city.
Provincial leaders affirmed that the goal of becoming a centrally-run city by 2027 is not just an administrative destination.
This is also a driving force for Khanh Hoa to continue to innovate its growth model, improve management capacity and sustainable development, worthy of being an international sea tourism service center and an important growth pole of the nation in the coming time.
