Since 2016, the first cross-border medical emergency line between Vietnam and China "Green Corridor of Life 1369" has been put into operation and maintained to date, contributing to the successful treatment of more than 500 critical patients.
To thoroughly coordinate, every year, Mong Cai City Medical Center (Vietnam) and Dongxing People's Hospital (China) also regularly organize medical rescue drills, improving treatment skills and emergency response.
Doctor Doan Ngoc Thuy - Director of Mong Cai City Medical Center - said: "Although the travel time from Mong Cai to Ha Long City has been shortened to nearly 2 hours, for emergency cases, this time has not yet ensured "golden time". Meanwhile, from the center of Mong Cai City to the nearest hospital in Dongxing City (China) is less than 15 minutes. The emergency care here will help patients access timely medical services, improving their chances of survival."

Medical training and coaching activities between the two sides have been enhanced, especially in 2024, Quang Ninh sent 6 groups with nearly 40 doctors to Quang Tay to study.
In October 2024, a working group of the Quang Ninh Department of Health visited and conducted technical research at Hospital No. 2 (under Quang Tay University of Medicine).
It is expected that in the 2025 Early Spring Meeting program between the Provincial Party Secretaries, the Regional Party Committee and the 16th Joint Working Committee Conference between the four provinces of Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Ha Giang (Vietnam) and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) taking place on February 20-21, in Ha Long City, the two sides will sign many important agreements in the health sector.
According to information from the Quang Ninh Department of Health, the Department is submitting to the Provincial People's Committee and asking for the opinion of the Ministry of Transport on completing and licensing the "green channel" for emergency care. When approved, Vietnamese ambulances can travel directly to China and vice versa, ensuring timely emergency care in emergency cases.
Quang Ninh also aims to promote the sending of medical human resources to China in 2025 to study and improve qualifications in fields such as organ donation and transplantation, stem cells, genetic medicine, neurology, oncology, cardiology and traditional medicine. The important goal is to be able to perform organ transplants right at the provincial level.
