On September 9, the Quang Tri Provincial Center for Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing confirmed that it had just had test results for the YDUOCPHONGPHU bone and joint health protection food sample.
Previously, implementing the product quality inspection plan, the center took samples at K.T pharmacy at Dien Sanh market, Dien Sanh commune, Quang Tri province.
The sampled product has registration number 9352/2020/ĐKSP, batch number 012026, production date January 20, 2026, expiry date January 20, 2029, box size of 60 tablets.
According to the basic standard announced by the manufacturer, each tablet has a glucosamine content of 125.61mg. The product packaging also states the ingredient glucosamine sulfate 2NaCl 200mg, equivalent to 125.61mg glucosamine and some other ingredients.
The front of the product box has content introducing the use of supporting the reduction of symptoms of bone and joint pain, limiting the process of osteoarthritis and increasing joint discharge.
However, the test results of the Quang Tri Provincial Center for Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing showed that no glucosamine was detected in the product sample.
For comparison, the unit sent samples of the same type to the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Testing. The test results here matched the results of the center in Quang Tri.
Notably, the test results also recorded that the amount of yeast, mold and aerobic microorganisms in the product all exceeded the permissible limit many times. Specialized agencies assessed that these indicators did not meet quality standards and risked affecting the health of users.
Faced with the above results, the Quang Tri Provincial Center for Drug, Cosmetic and Food Testing has reported to the Department of Health and relevant management agencies, requesting consideration and direction for handling the batch of substandard products to protect the rights and health of consumers.
