On the morning of March 16, the Culture - Society Department of Buon Ma Thuot ward (Dak Lak province) said that the unit is monitoring and coordinating to handle the case of 3 people hospitalized after eating bitter beef ribs with eggplant at M.L restaurant in the area.
Information from the Central Highlands Regional General Hospital, all 3 patients are currently being treated at the General Internal Medicine Department of the hospital. Basic health indicators have stabilized, but doctors are still continuing to treat oral lesions for patients.
Mr. N.V.P (34 years old, residing in Quang Ngai) said that he and many other workers from Quang Ngai came to Dak Lak to work at a construction site. After completing the work, the group organized a meal to say goodbye before returning to their hometown.
According to Mr. P., at noon on March 12, he and 11 others stopped at M.L restaurant to eat and drink. During the meal, when the restaurant served bitter beef ribs with eggplant, Mr. P. and two other people just put food in their mouths to chew when a burning sensation and swelling appeared in the oral cavity.
After the incident, the manager of M.L restaurant came to the hospital to visit and committed to pay all hospital fees for the 3 patients.
However, after a few days of treatment, we still cannot be discharged from the hospital because the mouth area is still heavily burned, and eating is difficult. In addition to paying hospital fees, pubs need to be responsible for the effects they have caused on customers' health," Mr. P shared.
