According to the direction, the Provincial Center for Disease Control and medical facilities are responsible for compiling a detailed list of children under 5 years old who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated with 4 doses of polio vaccine (including OPV oral and IPV vaccination).
From there, strengthen post-vaccination and dredging work. This work is especially focused on in difficult areas and ethnic minority areas, in order to ensure a coverage rate of over 95% of the commune-level scale.
At the same time, the health sector strengthens supervision of cases of acute mild polio at all public and private medical examination and treatment facilities; ensure full logistics, medicines, vaccines, equipment, supplies, and chemicals to serve polio prevention and control.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Education and Training to direct educational institutions, especially preschools and elementary schools, to coordinate with health stations to review vaccination history of students under 15 years old; and at the same time promote propaganda and mobilize parents to take children for vaccination fully and on schedule.
For the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones, the province requests to continue to implement monthly regular vaccination for subjects under the Expanded Program on Immunization.
Urgently review and organize sub-vaccination and post-vaccination for cases that have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated with 4 doses of polio vaccine, especially in areas with low vaccination rates.
Chairmen of People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones are responsible to the Provincial People's Committee if the situation of "locked-in areas" for vaccination occurs or disease outbreaks occur due to negligence in subject management.
Immediately after grasping the local policy, many people assessed that vaccination is the most important and effective measure to prevent polio for children.
Ms. Tran Thi Tra - residing in Nha Trang ward said that polio is a dangerous disease, which can leave lifelong sequelae if not prevented early.
