The Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) has a document requesting the suspension of circulation, recall and destruction nationwide of a cosmetic product of Beiersdorf Vietnam Co., Ltd. due to violations of regulations on published formulas.
The recalled product is Nivea Extra Bright Night Nourish, Receipt No. of Announcement Form 215172/23/CBMP-QLD, manufactured by Beiersdorf Vietnam Co., Ltd. responsible for putting it on the market, produced in Thailand.
According to the results of reviewing dossiers and reports of enterprises, this product contains Propylparaben (0.1%), which is not in the formula registered with the management agency. This is determined to be inconsistent with the cosmetic declaration dossier, violating current regulations.
The Drug Administration of Vietnam has decided to suspend circulation and request the recall of the entire batch of products mentioned above nationwide. The reason for the recall is that the cosmetics circulating have formulas that are not in accordance with the declared dossiers.
This agency requests the Departments of Health of provinces and cities to urgently notify establishments trading and using cosmetics to immediately stop trading and using violating products, and at the same time return them to the supplying unit.
In addition, localities need to strengthen inspection and supervision of the recovery and strict handling of violating organizations and individuals in accordance with the law.
For Beiersdorf Vietnam Co., Ltd., the Ministry of Health requires the enterprise to send a recall notice to the entire distribution system, receive returned products and proceed to recall and destroy all substandard products.
Businesses must also report the results of recall and destruction to the Drug Administration of Vietnam before April 20, 2026.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health is assigned the task of directly supervising the process of recalling and destroying products of enterprises; and at the same time inspecting the compliance with legal regulations in the cosmetic business activities of Beiersdorf Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The results of inspection and supervision must be reported to the Drug Administration of Vietnam before May 5, 2026.
