Ho Chi Minh City is in the 150-day period of universal health check-ups.

Businesses race to complete health check-ups for employees ahead of schedule 31. 10

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests departments, branches, localities and units to urgently organize periodic health check-ups for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers, striving to complete them before October 31, 2026.

Mr. Luu Kim Hong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Nidec Vietnam Company - said that the enterprise has conducted periodic health check-ups for employees for many years in accordance with the law. The most recent check-up was organized in mid-2026 with about 4,000 workers participating.

According to Mr. Hong, periodic health check-ups play an important role in personnel management and protection of workers' rights. The examination results help businesses assess their health status, arrange suitable jobs, and are also the basis for considering specific working regimes such as overtime or job transfers.

However, Mr. Hong said that it is necessary to clarify the data linkage mechanism between periodic health check-ups at enterprises and the Ho Chi Minh City's universal health check-up program to avoid overlap, procedures and waste of resources.

Businesses have conducted annual periodic health checks. The current issue is that there needs to be specific guidance on updating data to the city's health management system, which unit is responsible for implementing it and how to connect it," Mr. Hong expressed his opinion.

According to Mr. Hong, the goal of taking care of workers' health is necessary, but the implementation process needs to ensure synchronicity, convenience and minimize the worker having to perform many health check-ups with similar content.

Recorded at PouYuen Vietnam Company, which is a unit with a large number of workers in Ho Chi Minh City. To implement periodic health check-ups for employees, the company has a policy to implement this every year.

Mr. Cu Phat Nghiep - Chairman of the Trade Union of PouYuen Vietnam Company - said that the enterprise has implemented a health check program for employees under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee from July 1.

To date, about 8,000 out of more than 30,000 employees of the company have been health checked. According to Mr. Nghiep, the biggest difficulty currently lies not in the organization but in the hesitation of a part of workers.

There are still many workers who do not really understand the purpose and meaning of the program, so they are still hesitant to participate in health check-ups," Mr. Nghiep said.

Regarding the requirement to complete health check-ups for workers before October 31, Trade Union Chairman PouYuen said that this timeline is feasible. According to him, the important thing now is to continue to promote propaganda to help workers understand the benefits of periodic health check-ups, thereby proactively participating.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just requested departments, branches, localities, public service units, enterprises in export processing zones, industrial parks and production and business establishments to urgently organize periodic health check-ups for workers, striving to ensure that 100% of workers are checked before October 31, 2026.

According to the direction, units must review and compile a list of employees to synchronize data on the Community Health Management Platform, serving the development of electronic health records and management of health check-up results.

Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests that the examination content must be fully implemented according to the health examination package for people aged 18 and over according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health; not to arbitrarily cut or replace non-equivalent examination lists.

Agencies, units, and businesses are responsible for creating conditions for workers to participate in health check-ups, and at the same time strengthening propaganda to raise awareness about the benefits of early detection of diseases and health risk factors.

Notably, health check-up results must be updated to the Community Health Management Platform. After completing the check-up, the employer must report the results to the Department of Health within 3 days to serve monitoring, supervision and evaluation.

The document also emphasizes the requirement to ensure the safety and security of personal information and manage electronic health records in accordance with regulations.

For enterprises in export processing zones and industrial parks, the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority is assigned the task of urging, inspecting and supervising the implementation, ensuring the completion of the health check-up target for workers before the above deadline.
