Present from 6 am at the health check-up point for people with meritorious services in Hanh Thong ward, Mr. Nguyen Van Phat (74 years old) was one of the earliest arrivals. The veteran said he is being treated for many diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease and war sequelae that have lasted for many years.
Being organized for health check-ups by the local authorities and the hospital, and being carefully consulted by doctors, I am very happy," Mr. Phat shared.
Also present from early morning, Mr. Duong Dinh Tho - a veteran who served in the army for 17 years - quietly waited for his turn to be examined. He enlisted in 1971 and participated in the battlefield in Cambodia.
In a battle, Mr. Tho unfortunately suffered a chest and elbow injury and was taken to the emergency room by his comrades. After recovering, he continued to return to his unit, holding the position of company commander until the day he completed his mission.
For the veteran, living in peace is the greatest happiness. "I am luckier than many comrades who have remained in the martyrs' cemeteries. I am proud to have contributed a part of my blood and bones to the Fatherland and hope that today's young generation will always cherish history and live responsibly with the country," Mr. Tho shared.
Towards the anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day July 27, 1947 – July 27, 2026, many hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have organized health check-ups for people with meritorious services to the revolution.
At Military Hospital 175, on July 25, the first phase of examination is expected for 1,200 people, prioritizing people with meritorious services to the revolution. To create favorable conditions for people, Military Hospital 175 has arranged a separate examination area, and at the same time continues to improve the reception space and specialized health examination in the coming time. The hospital also mobilized many doctors and medical staff to participate even on holidays, with the goal of ensuring professional quality and bringing real efficiency to people.
Also organizing on this special occasion, Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City also sent medical staff to examine the health of nearly 600 people who are policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives in Vung Tau ward.
At the program, people with meritorious services to the revolution were given a general health check, necessary tests, and examinations at many specialties. After receiving the results, doctors conducted counseling, assessed their health status, and guided people to monitor and treat appropriately.
For some cases of old age, weak health or difficulty traveling, doctors and medical staff have come to their homes to examine, take samples for testing and provide health advice, ensuring that people have access to medical care services.
