The organ donor case is a 26-year-old male patient, suffering from severe traumatic brain injury due to a traffic accident.
Although actively treated by doctors, the patient did not survive and was diagnosed with brain death according to professional procedures.
In the pain of loss, the family agreed to donate the tissues and organs of their loved one to medicine, contributing to bringing life opportunities to many other patients.
Immediately after the brain death conclusion, the hospital held a professional consultation with Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, and urgently developed a plan to take multiple organs.

This process is carried out in close coordination with the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center and related units.
On April 6, Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital coordinated to simultaneously deploy multi-organ extraction and transplantation right at the hospital.
The surgery lasted about 5 hours, with the participation of nearly 100 medical staff from Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital and Central Eye Hospital.
The donated tissues and organs include the heart, liver, two kidneys and two corneas. After being removed, the organs are preserved, coordinated and transported to central-level medical facilities for transplantation. The two kidneys were transplanted immediately at Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital.
Currently, the patient's health after kidney transplantation is progressing well and is being monitored and actively cared for.
