From July 15, 2026, village and residential group health workers and village and hamlet midwives will enjoy a new monthly support level according to the Government's regulations. In which, the highest support level is up to 1.771 million VND/person/month.
The Government has issued Decree 192/2026/ND-CP effective from July 15, 2026, stipulating a number of special allowances in the field of health and support regimes for village health workers, residential groups, and village and hamlet midwives.
According to the decree, during their working time, this force is entitled to monthly support at a level equal to 0.7 times or 0.5 times the base salary.
Specifically, the support level is 0.7 times the base salary level applied to village health workers, residential groups and village midwives working in villages with 350 or more households; villages and hamlets belonging to difficult communes according to the Government's regulations; or residential groups and neighborhoods with 500 or more households.
Meanwhile, the support level equal to 0.5 times the base salary level is applied to the remaining villages, hamlets, and residential groups.
According to Decree 161/2026/ND-CP, from July 1, 2026, the base salary will be increased to 2.53 million VND/month. Thus, the group receiving a support level of 0.7 times the base salary will receive 1.771 million VND/month, while the group receiving a level of 0.5 times the base salary will receive 1.265 million VND/month.
The Decree also assigns the Provincial People's Committee to base on actual conditions and local budget capacity to submit to the People's Council of the same level to decide the number of village health workers, residential groups, village midwives, and specific support levels. However, this support level must not be lower than the minimum level prescribed by the Government.
