From July 15, 2026, village midwives and grassroots health workers can receive monthly support of up to more than 1.77 million VND according to new regulations.

From July 15, 2026, village and residential group health workers and village and hamlet midwives will enjoy new monthly support levels according to the provisions of Decree 192/2026/ND-CP. The highest support level can be up to more than 1.77 million VND/month.

According to Decree 192/2026/ND-CP, during their working time, village and residential group health workers and village and hamlet midwives will receive monthly support from the state budget.

The support level is determined to be 0.7 times or 0.5 times the base salary level, depending on the working area. From July 1, 2026, the base salary level is 2.53 million VND/month, so the corresponding support level ranges from about 1.265 million VND to more than 1.771 million VND/month.

Specifically, the support level of 0.7 times the base salary (about 1.771 million VND/month) applies to village health workers, residential groups and village and hamlet midwives working in villages with 350 or more households; villages and hamlets in difficult communes according to the Government's regulations; or residential groups and neighborhoods with 500 or more households.

For the remaining cases, the support level is 0.5 times the base salary, equivalent to about 1.265 million VND/month.

In addition to the minimum support level prescribed by the Government, the Provincial People's Committee shall base on socio-economic conditions, actual needs and budget balancing capacity to submit to the People's Council of the same level to decide the number of village health workers, residential groups, village and hamlet midwives as well as the specific support level in the locality.

However, the support level prescribed by the locality must not be lower than the minimum level according to Decree 192/2026/ND-CP. These regulations officially take effect from July 15, 2026.
