On May 16, Gia Dinh General Hospital said that a medical incident had just occurred at the hospital. The unit continues to coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to clarify and monitor the patient's situation.
On May 3, the unit admitted patient E (57 years old, foreign nationality) with the reason of admission being excess belly fat, hips, and back. Patients are fully covered by professional procedures for examination and consultation before surgery. The surgery and anesthesia process went smoothly, without complications. After surgery, the patient's condition was stable.
However, 2 days after surgery, the surgical wound showed signs of infection. The hospital held a consultation. After 2 days of active treatment, realizing that the disease's progression was not showing positive signs, the hospital proactively consulted with the inter-hospital team and transferred him to Military Hospital 175 on May 9.
The patient was conscious during the transfer, had good contact, maintained low doses of vasopressors, and supported oxygen breathing through his nose. The unit also sent doctors to Military Hospital 175 to support the patient during the treatment process.
Currently, the patient is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of Military Hospital 175. According to information, the patient's condition has improved but still needs intensive resuscitation treatment.
