Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep has just signed a document on behalf of Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen on accelerating the progress of the project to invest in the construction of Can Tho City Oncology Hospital (scale of 500 beds).
Accordingly, considering the report dated April 17, 2026 of the Department of Health on the project implementation results, the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee requested the Department of Health (Investor) to drastically direct the Contractor Consortium to immediately complete the work contents and procedures to accelerate the project implementation progress.

The investor must resolutely and strictly handle contractors who cause obstruction, delays, and prolongation that slow down construction progress in accordance with regulations and authority.
The Department of Health must also urgently coordinate closely with contractors and construction units to immediately develop a detailed Project Implementation Progress Plan; closely monitor and urge the implementation progress of contractors.

The official dispatch of Can Tho City People's Committee also requests the Contractor Consortium to improve responsibility, proactively coordinate closely and strictly implement the requirements of the Investor in accordance with regulations, ensure the immediate completion of relevant tasks and procedures, and accelerate the project completion progress in November 2026.
It is known that after adjusting the capital structure, the total investment of the Can Tho City Oncology Hospital construction investment project (scale of 500 beds) is expected to be 2,071 billion VND.
This is a hospital directed by the Government to be completed in 2026 and put into use in 2027 to serve people in the Mekong Delta.
