On August 5, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued Decision No. 849/QD-XPHC on administrative sanctions against Da Nang International General Hospital Joint Stock Company (head office address at 180 Tran Phu, Da Nang City) with Ms. Mong Thi Thu as Director.
According to the decision, the unit has committed many violations of legal regulations on the environment and food safety, including: not implementing, not fulfilling commitments or plans for collection, management and treatment of waste; not collecting and storing hazardous waste; arranging areas for storing hazardous waste that do not meet technical requirements; not making environmental protection reports; not ensuring cross-contamination prevention between unprocessed and processed foods in the kitchen; not implementing regulations on the 3-step food inspection regime.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City applied the main form of penalty, which is a fine with a total fine of 148.5 million VND. In which, a fine of 1.5 million VND will be imposed for failure to comply with, not fulfilling commitments or plans for waste collection, management and treatment.
Fine 30 million VND for failure to collect and store hazardous waste; fine 90 million VND for the act of arranging a hazardous waste storage area that does not meet technical requirements; fine 15 million VND for failure to report on environmental protection work.
Fine 4 million VND for the act of not ensuring cross-contamination prevention between unprocessed and processed foods in the kitchen; fine 8 million VND for the act of not implementing the 3-step food inspection regime.
Da Nang International General Hospital Joint Stock Company is required to take remedial measures and report the remedial results within 1 day from the date of receipt of the decision. If the company fails to voluntarily comply within the deadline, it will be forced to comply and for each late payment date, it will have to pay an additional 0.05% of the total amount not paid.
