According to MSc. Dr. Nguyen Duy Long - Director of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Hematology - Blood Transfusion Center (Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Health), voluntary blood donation is a noble gesture, showing the deep humanistic spirit of the community.
Each drop of blood given is a ray of hope for the lives of patients," he shared. Especially in the days leading up to Tet, the Center is expected to receive about 800 units of blood - an important number to meet the treatment needs during the peak period of prolonged holidays.
In critical emergency situations, between the line of birth and death, just one unit of blood can save the patient's life," emphasized the Center's leader.
In parallel with receiving blood on the spot, the Center has issued a document requesting Ninh Thuan General Hospital to strengthen the organization of blood reception at blood donation points in the hospital; and at the same time coordinate with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross Society to deploy blood reception in the community, especially in communes and wards in the southern province.
Localities are also required to develop plans to be ready to mobilize reserve blood donors, ensuring timely participation in emergencies.
