For the past 6 years, Ms. Hoang Thi Hieu (born in 1991), residing in Ban Ruoi village, Tri Le commune (Lang Son province) has almost put aside all work to be by her side taking care of her son, baby Be Hoang Bach (born in 2019). From an electronics worker with an income of about 4.6 million VND per month, Ms. Hieu was forced to quit her job when her son was frequently sick and needed someone to be on duty day and night.
The economic burden fell on the shoulders of Mr. Be Van Hoa (born in 1991) - Ms. Hieu's husband. The freelance job was precarious, and income depended on each working day. Mr. Hoa himself also suffered from respiratory diseases but still tried to work, because if he took a day off, the family would lack money for medicine, food and treatment costs for his child.
In addition to Bach, Ms. Hieu and her husband also have their eldest son, Be Hoang Long (born in 2011), who is obedient, studies well and always helps his mother with housework and takes care of his younger sibling whenever possible.
According to Ms. Hieu, Bach gave birth at Lang Son Provincial General Hospital. Only about a month after giving birth, Bach continuously got minor illnesses, each time lasting for weeks without stopping.

At that time, I just thought my child's resistance was weak, so he often got sick. Every time my child was sick, I took him to the commune health station or gave him medicine according to instructions and then took him back. No one thought my child had a serious illness," Ms. Hieu said choked up.
In the years that followed, Bach was still frequently sick. The family took him to the doctor many times, but the symptoms were only treated moderately. By July 2025, the boy's condition became serious. After a nap, Bach suddenly complained of pain in his right leg, pain in the knee joint area. Only two days later, the pain gradually increased, causing the baby to lose sleep and cry all night.
The family immediately took Bach to Lang Son Provincial General Hospital. As soon as they arrived, the pain made the baby unable to walk on his own and had to be in a wheelchair in the Department of Pediatrics. Through examination, X-ray, ultrasound and tests, doctors diagnosed the baby with hip arthritis and pelvic knee arthritis.
Bach was treated here for 6 days. Initially, pain relievers helped the baby get better, but by the sixth day, the pain returned more severely than before.
Worried for her child, Ms. Hieu continued to take Bach to the National Children's Hospital. After four consecutive bone marrow punctures, the final result made the whole family collapse: Bach suffered from acute leukemia (blood cancer).
When the doctor announced that my child had blood cancer, I was stunned. I didn't believe it was true. Seeing my child so young and having to endure such pain, my heart was broken," Ms. Hieu shared.

Immediately after that, Bach received intensive treatment. He was hospitalized for more than a month before meeting the conditions to enter chemotherapy sessions. Since then, the journey of fighting illness has not stopped.
Up to now, Ms. Hieu's family has spent about 200 million VND on treatment, not to mention having to buy an additional 2 million VND per month for special treatment drugs outside the insurance list. All the money is borrowed from banks, relatives and relatives.
Currently, Bach's health has shown more positive signs after many chemotherapy sessions. However, ahead is still a long treatment journey with many incurred costs.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Van Bac, Head of Ban Ruoi village, Tri Le commune (Lang Son province) said that Ms. Hieu's family is in particularly difficult circumstances in the locality.
I hope philanthropists and readers from near and far will join hands to help so that the family has more conditions to continue treating Bach. Sharing at this time will be a valuable source of encouragement, adding hope for the boy to have the opportunity to overcome his illness and return to normal life," Mr. Bac shared.
