UK transfers core technology to help Ukraine produce anti-UAV equipment

Britain strengthens defense support for Ukraine by sharing technology to produce military equipment.

The British government announced that it will transfer the intellectual property rights of the Stone Cloak electronic warfare system to Ukraine, creating conditions for Kiev to mass produce jamming devices to strengthen its ability to deal with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

According to TASS news agency, the above information was announced by the Office of British Prime Minister Andy Burnham in an official statement. It is expected that this decision will be announced by Prime Minister Burnham at a British naval base during the visit to this country by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 28.

The transfer of intellectual property rights will allow Ukraine to fully access the core technology of the Stone Cloak system, thereby being able to self-produce equipment on a large scale instead of completely relying on supply from the UK.

Stone Cloak is an electronic warfare device the size of a tablet. The device is designed to prevent the enemy from tracking or locating unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with this system through an electronic jamming mechanism.

According to the British government, the country's Ministry of Defense previously transferred thousands of Stone Cloak devices to the Ukrainian army to support combat capabilities with UAVs in the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

The new move is seen as a step forward in defense cooperation between London and Kiev, when the focus is not only on providing equipment but also expanding to technology transfer so that Ukraine can proactively produce and ensure long-term supply.

Previously, Mr. Richard Balfe, a member of the British Senate, said in an interview with TASS that the new British government will still maintain its commitment to support Ukraine. However, according to him, the conflict in Ukraine is no longer receiving as much attention from the British people as before.

Stone Cloak's decision to transfer intellectual property rights was made in the context of the UK continuing to affirm its role as one of the leading military supporters of Ukraine since the conflict broke out.
