Low pressure begins to enter the East Sea

One low pressure area is entering the East Sea while another low pressure area near the Philippines is standing still off the east coast of this country.

The latest storm and low pressure news on July 30th from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that low pressure 07e is entering the East Sea. Currently, this low pressure is in the coastal waters of Nasugbu, Batangas, Philippines and is still within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Another low pressure area 07f is 1,650 km east of Eastern Visayas, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), with little chance of developing into a storm or tropical depression in the next 24 hours.

Philippine typhoon forecasters believe that both low pressures are unlikely to develop into tropical depressions in the next 24 hours.

In the daily forecast, PAGASA said that low pressure 07e will cause cloudy skies and rain for the Ilocos, Central Luzon, Calabarzon and Metro Manila areas.

This low pressure area in the East Sea may dissipate within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, low pressure 07f is almost standing still and may continue to be maintained in the Philippine Sea in the next few days. Low pressure 07f may also soon dissipate and is not expected to affect Philippine weather conditions.

The weather on July 30 in the Philippines is forecast to be mild in Visayas and Mindanao but there is still a possibility of localized thunderstorms. While easterly winds, i.e. warm winds blowing from the Pacific, continue to affect some areas in Northern Luzon.

Depression 07f is also being monitored by the US Navy's Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) and named 94W. This low pressure is located near Yap, Micronesia, with maximum sustained winds at the surface of about 30 km/h. JTWC assesses that this low pressure is unlikely to strengthen into a storm in the next 24 hours.
