Dolphin storm is about to intensify, risk of setting a record in history

Thanh Hà |

Hurricane Dolphin may continuously intensify to become one of the most violent storms ever recorded in history.

The latest typhoon news on the morning of July 28th said that Typhoon Dolphin has become a strong tropical storm over the western Central Pacific Ocean. It is expected that the storm will strengthen rapidly in the next 12 hours due to the particularly favorable environment.

Satellite images show the eye of Hurricane Dolphin forming. Strong exhaust gas, along with other favorable environmental factors, is expected to help Hurricane Dolphin strengthen rapidly in the following hours.

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said that the latest storm of the 2026 storm season will strengthen into a severe storm on July 30, the third storm to reach this level in the Western Pacific Basin (WPAC) this year.

Meanwhile, the US Navy's Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) forecasts Dolphin to reach Category 5 super typhoon intensity on July 30.

Hurricane Dolphin is forecast to enter a rapid intensification (RI) phase in the next 24 hours, as the surrounding environment turns into an extremely favorable state, creating conditions for the storm to continue to strengthen.

Due to unexpected interaction with the mainland in the next 7 days, potential super typhoon Dolphin may continuously intensify to become one of the most violent storms ever recorded in history.
