The National Meteorological Center of China issued a blue storm warning on the morning of August 10, and forecast that heavy rain will continue until August 13 in many areas, including Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Henan and Hebei. Some places are likely to experience very heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds.
From August 13, the remnants of Hurricane Dolphin are forecast to move north and interact with a new cold air mass. This combination could cause significant rain in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Liaoning.
Meteorologists warn that Hurricane Dolphin may increase the risk of floods and related disasters in some areas. Authorities are required to strengthen measures to prevent and combat natural disasters and geological hazards, while preventing floods on medium and small rivers.
In Beijing, the flood control agency said that the city is expected to activate flood response level II on the morning of August 11.
